When the Apostle’s Paul places responsibility onto those to whom he preached, it is a flashback to God’s instructions to Ezekiel.
Acts 18:6
6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
Ezekiel 3:19
19 But as for you, if you warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wicked deed and from his wicked lifestyle, he will die for his iniquity but you will have saved your own life.
