Can a believer fall away? Yes. Can anyone make a believer fall away? No. What’s the believers first responsibility? Seek God’s righteousness and kingdom first. How intently? Enough to dig deep roots.

Luke 8:13

13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.

John 10:29-30

29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

God has plans for blessings and curses. How do you tie yourself into the plans for blessing? Seek God with all your heart, who you will come to know through Jesus the Word Incarnate.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

All peoples are to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, to obey God’s commands with all their self, and to hold steadfast to the testimony of Jesus, even in the face of war.

God calls us to seek and draw near to him, and though our ability to do this completely is limited, God then draws near to those who do, so they find him while he can be found.

James 4:7-8

Modern psychology shows there are ways to reprogram the brain to establish new habits and ways. God’s new covenant through Jesus Christ already includes changing our hearts and minds in the covenant package, provided we seek God, believe in him, and continue in the covenant.

Hebrews 8:10

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Those who seek the Lord and later praise him, found him because God reveals himself to those who seek hm diligently. This seeking leads to several God chooses to have find him and trust and believe in him. Are you seeking God and his righteousness?

Psalm 22:26

26 The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied;
those who seek him shall praise the Lord!
May your hearts live forever!

Matthew 7:7

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Deuteronomy 4:29

But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

‘Your mission, should you choose to accept it,’ is to seek out the Lord God. It’s mission impossible without God’s help, yet It’s mission possible because God chooses to appoint and anoint and stir up faith in those who do seek his kingdom and righteousness, who find the Lord, who conquered sin and death by the cross.
