Look at Earth from the Heaven

Image via Wikipedia

In the Lord’s prayer, people pray for God’s will to be done on Earth as in Heaven. Counter-intuitively, Jesus’ followers on Earth are allowed to set parameters of what is permitted in Heaven, consistent with God’s will.

Matthew 16:18-20 (ESV):

17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

How many local, regional, national, global leaders, people groups, and political parties do you pray for worldwide?

1 Timothy 2:1-4

2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
